MMA fans have long waited for a boxer to step up and fight an mma practitioner. Their wishes came true at UFC 118.
James Toney would be that brave soul as stepped into the octagon with legend and former champion Randy Couture.
Too bad the fight did not go past the first round!
Couture finished the slugger off with ease.
Long live mma!

GSP vs Koscheck 2
UFC bad boy Josh Koscheck will get his rematch against champion Georges St-Pierre this December!
Does anyone really give Kosheck a chance?
GSP has just being crusing through competition and I hardly think Mr. Koscheck will pose any threat to GSP's title, considering the champion is rated the pound for pound best fighter in the world.
One thing is for sure we will get to see a beat down, especially because many of us just cant stand Koscheck and his constant blabber!

Just Tap Out Already
The B.C. Medical Association as well as provinces such as Newfoundland and Saskatchewan continue to oppose mma and have labeled it as a blood sport. Critics believe the sport is to dangerous and more provinces should ban mma.
Come on people seven provinces have already officially sanctioned the sport, you would think these guys would stop already! What critics need to do is actually attend a fight and understand the sport before judging it. The sport is beautiful and it allows the best athletes to showcase their skills. Fighters are not set on maiming one another and instead have a huge amount of respect for each other and after beating up one another for a couple of rounds, can be seen hugging it out at the end of the fight.
Talk about sportsmanship!
Its only matter of time, before you know it mma will be sanctioned everywhere in Canada!

The Ring or the Octagon, That is the Question
The debate between mma and boxing proponents as to which sport is superior has been an interesting one. Proponents of each sport have harshly criticized the opposing side and will utilize any chance to bash the other sport. Those in favour of boxing usually criticize mma for being to violent and bloody and argue that because mma fighters are not good with their hands they have to take their opponent down.
I guess boxers have not seen mma legends like Chuck Lidell and Randy Couture fight.
On the other hand supporters of mma, make a very good point, and argue that boxing is one dimensional and lacks diversity. The sport of mma is an integration of numerous disciplines such as boxing, jiu jitsu and wrestling and fighters display their diverse skills in the octagon each fight. Therefore fights tend to be more exciting because the viewer never knows whats going to happen next. Whereas Boxing tends to be more predictable due to the fact the viewer knows both fighters can only punch one another and maybe occasionally head but each another out of frustration!
Both sports are great but come on how can you not love watching triangle chokes kimuras and armbars.
Also how often does mma come to a stand still usually never, can boxing say the same?
